
In the context of the Organization of American States, in 1996 the States adopted the Inter-American Convention against Corruption. This Convention has a Follow-Up Mechanism for its Implementation (MESICIC), in order to evaluate how the States are fulfilling their obligations.
In the third round of analysis, through a questionnaire distributed in 2008, they analyzed the implementation of the following articles of the Convention: paragraphs 7 and 10 of the art. III (Preventive Measures), and arts. VIII (transnational bribery), IX (illicit enrichment), X (notification) and XIII (extradition).
