This investigation project was concluded in december 2012 and published in december 2013. In this report, we analyze the performance of the Anticorruption Office in its first twelve years of work, by studying their official reports (from 2000 to the first semester of 2012).
It includes an analysis of the formal competences and the actual performance of the two Directions that exist in the Office: the Direction of Investigations of the Anticorruption Office, and the Direction for the Planning of Transparency Policies.
Among other issues, this report includes: the lack of actualization of the Office’s action plan; the lack of systematic implementation of assets recovery policies; the extremely low number of convictions for corruption; and the insufficient joint work with the rest of the Public Administration organisms.
